Camo S-3C-M3 forms part of Invader’s Camouflage series, in which his instantly recognisable Space Invader figure is embedded within complex fields of military-inspired pattern.
Camouflage is particularly fitting within Invader’s practice. For more than two decades, he has installed mosaics discreetly into cities around the world, allowing them to become part of the architecture while remaining discoverable to those who know where — and how — to look. In this series, that act of concealment becomes the subject itself.
Depending on distance and attention, the Invader motif shifts between visibility and disappearance, making perception part of the experience. The result connects the artist’s iconic pixel language with the ideas of anonymity, discovery and hidden presence that have underpinned his global project since 1998.
Produced in 2024 as part of HENI Editions’ Camouflage series.
