GEMMA HEALY
Gemma Healy is a Queenstown-based artist and musician whose multidisciplinary practice explores the relationship between sound, light, and materiality. Her works are created using sustainable materials that are both colour-changing and sound-absorbing, offering a sensory experience that shifts with the viewer’s perspective.
Each piece is composed through a meticulous, layered process in which individual materials are placed by hand and built up with successive coats of paint. This technique allows Gemma to transform surfaces into living compositions that respond to their environment, softening acoustics and subtly altering with the play of light. Driven by a desire to create art that is both beautiful and functional, Gemma’s works invite calm and connection, transforming open spaces into reflective, harmonious environments.
