Through various jobs in various industries there has alway been this unshakeable feeling that there has to be another way, a better way. Ultimately we came to the conclusion that this feeling would not go away unless we broke free so buckle your seatbelt Dorothy cause Kansas is going bye-bye. Thus from a boujee vintage sofa one day in 2023, we had a chat along the lines of "shall we start a business selling art" and the The Arts Hole was born or rather opened.

With very little knowledge and lots of passion for the culture we have built up an incredible collection of emerging, established and blue chip artists. We are often described by local influencers as "not bad". We like to think we offer something a little different, we have Dad jokes for days but behind the scenes we wanted to start something that could shake things up a bit and make a difference. We work with local charities through the sale of our merch and have lots of ambitious projects planned for the future.

We are proud to support local artists with interesting stories/journeys whilst also bringing some incredibly exciting, established work from New Zealand and internationally that you won't see elsewhere. Because of our ties to the Mob, we can source some really hard to find pieces from the urban/street scene so if you can be bothered to come to the gallery you might see some cool stuff on the walls.
