László Ormay is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is grounded in a sustained investigation of drawing and painting as durational processes. Working across works on paper, monochrome drawing, painting and language-based work, he constructs surfaces through the gradual accumulation of marks, lines, perforations and tonal fields.

At the centre of Ormay’s practice is repetition, operating as both method and structure. Through the disciplined accumulation of gestures, each surface becomes a record of time, attention and material process. The image emerges gradually through duration rather than depiction, retaining the physical trace of its making.

Across his work, Ormay explores the relationship between time, surface and material through a language defined by restraint and sustained attention. Subtle variations in pressure, spacing, tone and texture accumulate over time, producing quiet, highly considered works that reward close looking.
