Wonderland

Limited edition 3D wall sculpture. Released in Autumn 2018 by John D Wilson, a British-born self-taught contemporary artist. His art is surreal, with most pieces viewed in 3D and containing a reverse perspective. In a world of digital trickery and special effects, it takes a true artist to conjure an illusion with a trusty paintbrush and canvas. After more than 40 years as an artist, he has perfected his take on the "reverse perspective" genre, which bends the rules of physics to transform the viewer's interpretation of objects near and far. John and his wife Linda applied for New Zealand residency in 2014 and moved to New Zealand in 2015. Before that, they had travelled here every year since 2006, after having their three daughters and their families settle in New Zealand. They lived in Queenstown for their first 5 years, as this was where one of their daughters had settled. 2019 was the year they made their move to Omokoroa, falling in love with the area on their regular visits to another daughter residing there. After experiencing the warmer climate, they especially appreciated the winter temperatures and chose to call it home.
