BANKSY - DI FACED TENNER

In 2004, Banksy conducted one of his most iconic stunts when he transformed the traditional £10 note into the incredible ‘Di-Faced Tenner’. Instead of The Queen, the fake notes featured the much-loved Princess Diana, no doubt a nod of admiration towards Diana and a raising of eyebrows to the Monarchy.

Suitcases full of the notes were then thrown into crowds at Notting Hill Carnival and Reading Festival, which sent people into a frenzy trying to grab the ‘free money’. Amazingly, even after people realised they were fake, they tried to spend them anyway! An incredible stunt that highlighted many facets of the value of money, wealth distribution and human behaviour. 

Genuine pieces are still super collectable and great to have in a collection. The example we have is in excellent condition, beautifully float mounted in a black frame with Anti-Reflective, UV Blocking Artglass and with a gallery issued COA.
