Em Wafer is a full-time New Zealand artist known for her surreal dreamscapes and microcosmic worlds. She exhibits locally and internationally and has collectors worldwide. Her work addresses the subconscious, where a multitude of perspectives exist: the unique and the universal. Glimpses of unseen places deeply felt yet never fully articulated connect us all and allow us room for reflection.

Em’s inspiration is equally internal and external: conversation, connection, synchronicity, humour, parenting a child on the autism spectrum. The work, circumstance, and intuition all inform each other, the process itself often shifting the concept entirely!
